Douala, July 31, 2026 — The Evangelical Church of Cameroon (EEC) celebrated 30 years of partnership with the United Evangelical Mission (UEM) on Friday, July 31, 2026, in Douala. The symbolic ceremony, marked by the sharing of a commemorative cake, was held in a spirit of thanksgiving to God for three decades of fruitful cooperation and Christian fellowship.
The celebration brought together Church leaders, members of the EEC Directorate staff, representatives of the United Evangelical Mission, and invited guests for a program characterized by fellowship, gratitude, and remembrance.
The ceremony began with an opening prayer led by Pastor Jacques Brunot DJENE, followed by a welcome address from the First Vice-President of the EEC, Rev. Dr Bernard KOPP. Participants then witnessed the presentation of the commemorative cake, symbolizing the 30 years of partnership between the two institutions.
The celebration continued with a toast offered by the President of the Evangelical Church of Cameroon, Rev. Alexandre BILLA MBENGA, in honor of this longstanding partnership.
Beyond its festive dimension, the gathering provided an opportunity to look back on the major milestones of the cooperation between the EEC and the UEM. A presentation on the history and achievements of this partnership was delivered by the Second Deputy Secretary General, AE Samuel MAKA TOKO.
Thirty years of a shared mission
For three decades, the Evangelical Church of Cameroon and the United Evangelical Mission have worked together to strengthen the mission and witness of the Church in Cameroon. This cooperation has contributed to several key areas, including theological and professional training, healthcare, education, community development, and the proclamation of the Gospel.
Through this partnership, numerous initiatives have been supported, contributing to the strengthening of the Church’s ministry and its service to communities.
The 30th anniversary therefore represents much more than a commemorative milestone. It is a testimony to a relationship built over time on trust, solidarity, mutual commitment, and a shared vision of Christian mission.
Looking to the future with gratitude and hope
As it celebrated three decades of walking together with the United Evangelical Mission, the Evangelical Church of Cameroon expressed its gratitude to God for His faithfulness and guidance throughout the years.
The anniversary also provided an opportunity to reaffirm the EEC’s commitment to pursuing this partnership and exploring new avenues of cooperation for the advancement of God’s mission and the well-being of communities.
Thirty years have passed, but the journey continues. With gratitude for the past and hope for the future, the EEC and the UEM look forward to strengthening their collaboration in the service of the Church and the proclamation of the Gospel.
